An Open letter to the Institutional Reforms Committee

I don't know what pushes me to write this letter to the government. Perhaps I just wanted to contribute or at least voiced out some constructive changes to make my country Malaysia a better place to be.

Although I really dislike the hot weather, I really cannot live without the food here  (Nasi Lemak, Roti Canai, Rendang Ayam, BKT, Dim Sum, Banana Leaf Rice, Nasi Dagang....slurrps)

I dropped an email to IRC after listening to the radio broadcast this morning informing that we can email our suggestion to the committee. Although I know nothing about politics but I can tell every single thing that is affecting our daily life. So, here it goes, started with getting permission to rant politely.

" Dear Sirs,

First of all, I wish to extend my gratitude for giving us the opportunity to express our opinion on how we want Malaysia to be a better place for everyone.

I apologize for my informal writing and please forgive me if I do said/type something improper.

I am just a normal citizen who would really like share my opinion here openly like how a friend would do.

Education
1) It will be good to have one type of school for all Malaysian provided that there are other subjects for the kids to choose between Islamic Class, Mandarin Class or even Tamil Class. We need to grow as one also learn to respect the individual. I had grown up in Kebangsaan School. Now that I am working, I realized that there are ample of opportunity out there if only I have learnt another language other than English and Bahasa.

2) Moral shall be abolished from the subject list because this is just too ridiculous. How can we expect people to behave morally by just reading and memorizing the ways and strategy to answer a moral questions paper?

3) We should have a longer school hour. 5 hours is just too short for the intense syllabus. It’s always like touch and go in the classroom. Students who can afford will get to rely on tuition centre for deeper understanding of the subject. Does that mean only the rich can be smarter? Why do we have to pay for something that is half cooked (cost of operating a school) ? Why do we need to create untaxable income opportunity (for home tuition)?
I would like to suggest a longer one session school system so that the school is the only place we study and no necessity for extra expenses on tuition/etc.

Strategised the school hour to avoid working peak hour.

4) Abolishing the quota intake for local University. Intake by university shall based solely on performance. We do not need sub-standard professional nor do we want talents flying out from our country. Singapore is getting in all our talents that we failed to house. Some went there for the money (of course). Some are there because of free education based on eligibility. Some are out there  (New Zealand, Russia, UK, Australia) practicing as professional and settled down because their parent have the money to send them overseas for further studies. Some are out there sponsored by government but only some decided to come back to serve the country.

Let's deeply re-consider this 'criteria' that was set for independent. Is it really worth it? Is it benefitting our country as a whole? We need human talents to move forward faster as we are now more than 50 years back from developed country.

Transport
1) We should look into improving the route and quantity of railways. Railways are still mostly used by foreigners because Malaysian would still prefer to drive due to its convenience and also the inconvenience of public transport. If we can drive 30mins comfortably to reach a destination compared to 50mins in public transport (take bus to station – take a train – take a bus), we will still drive.
There is just too many cars on the road. The traffic is getting worst every single year. This is good in a sense that we have higher workforce in the country each year. There is no way to stop people from buying cars because we need transport to work. Imagine staying in Klang and working in KL. There is basically no other choice but to drive to work and enduring the traffic every single day.
Individual time and fuel is wasted in the traffic and when all this sum up and converted into monetary value, we could easily build 3 or 4 phases of railways.

2) Reducing the concessionaires. We should and could build our own highway. We have many reputable developers and contractors who could do it. Set out contract directly to the contractor and ensure there is no total-sub-letting to other contractors. Reduce the terms and conditions / preliminary cost in government contract eg. remove car allowance in the contract for officer.

Human Resources

Do we have too many government staffs? Shall we rely more on technology to reduce manpower? Shall we release more government staff to the workforce so that we can reduce the reliance to foreigners? We might have noticed that those who was once foreign labour had came up to be Employer themselves. Leading the teams of foreigner workers and putting local businesses to threat. They control the workforce, they control the pay, the control if they want to get the job done for you or otherwise.

We should give more working opportunity to the locals. Why country like Korea can have locals working as waiters and even cleaners but we can't? Is that because the pay is too low or the daily expenses is too high or the mentality is not there?

This is my speculation of what is going to happen if there is no foreign labour in our country. We will have less workforce in the market, employer would have to pay higher wages. If they can't sustain based on higher wages, they will have to invest in technology so that it reduces manpower. This may in a sense, improve work environment and increase the take-up rate of local?

Another perspective perhaps is the house helper. If there is no foreign maid/helper, those who need this services will have to look for locals who are willing to do it. Housewives who are now staying at home may come out to join the workforce for extra income. Lesser money flowing out of the country too.

Tourism

Now that we are well known in the world, we should really focus in our tourism. We have what it needs to excel in this perspective. Our Sabah islands and sea is the most beautiful in our region. Our Borneo forest is much richer. Our culture is so colourful and unbeatable. But yet, tourists are landing in our neighbor land. We just need a little but more positive publicity and we are all good (and perhaps dryer and cleaner toilet too).

Well, that's basically my two cents. Thanks for spending time going through my opinion/suggestion.

Looking forward to a better Malaysia.

Best Regards."

New Place to Eat @ Seremban

Seriously, why seremban is always linked to crab? And those crabs are always big, juicy and fresh. Damn.

We has stopped by this place twice while on the way home from Melaka. This is like the dinner place for the locals. Unlike the famous BBQ crab which is located in the city of Seremban, this restaurant is located in within the housing area of Seremban (which I have no idea where it is)

'Sang Ha' noodle. Basically is just some superb big and fresh prawn with braised noodle. Those noddles are immersed with super-prawnny-taste gravy.

I wouldn't say that the price is much cheaper than the BBQ crab in the town. But it's well worth it for the size and also the freshness. Overall taste was alright just a bit too salty to our preference.

May worth giving it a try as there's nothing to lose.

Missing Photos from my Blog!!!!!

Really hate to find out that I can't share my photos in photobucket here anymore unless I pay for an upgrade.

WTF!

What am I going to do now? Download and upload again to other platform and relink all the photos? This is going to take like forever!

What is wrong with this people. Yes, I had used your platform as photo hosting for free. You owe me nothing but at least give us earlier notice so that we can do something about it.

Just tried to download all my photos there from Photobucket website and I can't find the damn download album button. @#$%^&amp. Ended up downloading using my handphone! This suck man.

Luckily it is Photobucket and not (yet) Dropbox. I am gonna be so screwed if it is!

At a moment I really felt like getting my own website. Screw it even if i need to fork out money for hosting and domain. Grrr....

Seriously, do I need my own website? It is not that I am a full time blogger. Not like I have a lot of followers or I could earn money from my blog. But I just felt like falling into the trap of paying for a blog. Lol...

Imagine seeing www.broscheloo.com live on the internet. That looks so cool isn't?

Can I setup my own website with my limited knowledge? Do I have the time to work on the new blog? Hmmppp....

Even if I am willing to pay, what am I going to do with my website? What are the things that I wanted to be focused on?

Food? Travel? Family? Fashion? Beauty?

I can't really tell which category I'm in because I am a little of everything.

Wait, maybe I could just be a lifestyle blogger. But what is so 'fun' in my life that people care or wanted to know about. Hmm...

Awwh....thinking of this made me feel so sad. Am I really good at nothing? Am I really that ordinary?

No! I am special. Eveyone is special. I wouldn't want to be famous because of some misfortune in my life. Nor would I want to be famous for reason that I should not. I am an ordinary woman but there is definitely something worth mentioning. That's where all the good energy will grow.

I have a loving husband, a botak boy, two families with endless love and load of friends who I love to catch up with.

They will be the reason for all the happiness I will experience in my life!

Muacks!

P/S : So, do I really need my website?

A Brand New Malaysia

This could be the only time that I am so into politics.

Politics is the only news I would ignore in the newspaper because it is all bullshit. It's all distorted. It is not 100% true story and worst still it is one sided.

Malaysia General Election 14 is the thing that every Malaysian is talking about.

My social media account is flocked with photos of stained finger, proof that we had done our duty as Malaysian, to cast the vote for our future. Here's mine.

IMG_20180509_134420

IMG_20180509_131954

For the first time, we had watched the result so closely that we even have live update playing on the background while having our dinner. This had never happen before. We usually do not care much of the result because we always knew what is the expected result.

Tonight, everything will be different. We care. We knew we have a chance to make things right. We want to have first hand information of what is happening outside.

I am really grateful for those who had guarded the polling station to ensure no hanky panky. Those who dare to protest against the forces in delivery of additional votes after closing. Those who volunteered to be the agent to witness and protect the transparency that all voters should deserved.

Unlike those Hero out there, I have to sleep at 12am that night when the result is just 30% in progress. I am a mom of a three year old boy. My main responsibility is to ensure he is safe and healthy. I can't be risking myself for he need me. I felt that I should be outside doing something for the nation but I didn't. I just couldn't fall asleep that night. What will be the faith of our country. The future of my son. If I need to rest for tomorrow is working day, what about those hero out there. What if everyone go home preparing for another tomorrow. What if there is no guard at the polling station. What if the result is being distorted and there is no one to witness? I can't stop thinking of the endless possibilities.

Why am I laying on the bed thinking, worrying and waiting for others to fight to protect my future? I should be out there doing some good.

I woke up at 3am as I really can't stop blaming myself. I go to social media for updates and news. I can't believe what i just read/saw. It was really shocking to know that we had manage to change the result for the first time in history. Is this even real? This might be fake news? I need a double no...maybe a triple verification.

So, does that mean public holidays for 2days?? Fark...that's all I care about?  I went back to bed. Still couldn't sleep. I must share this to Kent!!!

He jump out of bed when I broke the news. "Seriously??" We didn't sleep after that.

It is really amazing to feel that there is finally hope for Malaysia. We do not need to be led by a clown who made us all look like idiot in the world. Now we are famous again for we have a guiness breaking record "oldest prime minister" in the world as our Prime Minister. Can you imagine a 93 years old man fighting for us? Shame on myself. He gave me a lot of inspiration that I even thought that maybe i should be a politician some day (nah...)

We did not choose our next leader. We merely wanted the current one out. Well, that's at least what I have in my mind. To be franked, I've got not much confident on the new government too. Do they have the knowledge and ability to run the country? Are they thrustworthy? Would it be another nightmare? Is there any hidden agenda that we might have missed since we are all so distracted?

I can't be bothered much because the ultimate aim was achieved. Now is time to really sit down and find out what's the next big plan to save our nation. I truly support GST as it is a good tax system. What's the different it can make by changing it back to Service Tax? Do you think the price of material prices that had gone up will now come shooting down? Wake up people. That will never happen. Reduce our personal income tax. That I will appreciate a lot.

I am no politician. I know nothing about politic, seriously. I have no confident to go out there to fight for our future neither. I can't give funny speeches nor am I good at spontaneous response. I can't write judgmental post professionally on social media nor can I take any criticism from unknown sources. I am just an ordinary mum of a 3 years old boy, a wife to my husband and the daughter to my parents. All I can do is to raise a boy who would love his country and contribute to the nation.

Let's make a better Malaysia by doing our parts right first.

I wrote this blog entry simply to record my feeling over this historical moment of my country Malaysia. And also as a reminder to myself that I in fact love my country a lot that I naturally find myself signing our national song in the morning.
